Can cats eat Yogurt?

What's the full picture?

A lick of plain Greek yogurt is unlikely to cause significant harm to most adult cats, but many will get loose stools from the lactose. Flavoured yogurts contain added sugar and sometimes xylitol — both problems.

Yogurt is sometimes suggested as a gut-health treat, but there's no reliable evidence that human yogurt benefits cats. If you want probiotic support, use a veterinary-formulated feline probiotic.
